About this event service

Alight helps people plan their public-transport journey to TEDx Coolhaven Women on 9 October 2026. Public route planning does not require an account.

Your email and account

The developer imports the event attendee, staff and organizer email list to control account eligibility. Registration checks that list and requires a one-time code sent to your email. Authentication is provided through Supabase; authentication emails are delivered through Resend. Alight sends authentication emails only.

We record your acceptance of the terms when you verify your email. Your private email is not a public profile field. Staff and organizer accounts are excluded from attendee registration totals.

Journey planning

Your route search is sent to Google through Alight to obtain public-transport directions. Your precise starting location is not shared with other attendees. Route estimates describe a planned journey, not your live location.

Optional profile sharing

Verifying your email does not publish a profile. Connecting with attendees requires a separate profile and explicit sharing choice. The planned profile includes a name and short description, with an optional photo and LinkedIn link. Sharing and attendee discovery are separate from account verification.

The event sharing policy is reciprocal: stopping sharing hides your profile and removes access to other attendees’ profiles, while preserving public route planning and your own saved journey and attendee card.

Usage measurement

When enabled, Alight records a small set of actions such as opening the app, submitting a route search, viewing meeting instructions and beginning or completing registration. Mixpanel processes these events in its EU region. A random browser-tab identifier lasts 30 minutes and connects these actions into a session. It is not your account ID; we do not send your email, profile, origin, destination, full page URL or browsing history to Mixpanel. We do not use session recordings or automatic click tracking.

Shared campaign tags identify an organizer email, website banner or event QR, not an individual recipient. Browser Do Not Track is respected. Registration totals are calculated separately from the imported attendee list, excluding staff and organizers. Session-level records are covered by the 30-day deletion policy; only aggregate totals may be retained afterwards.

Optional transportation support

Support uses Intercom Messenger. It loads only when you choose to open the chat, as a visitor. Alight does not automatically send your account email, social profile or journey to Intercom. Information you type into the chat, along with browser/device information, is processed by Intercom. Messenger uses cookies to remember conversations on this device. Clear support chat on this device when finished on a shared device; signing out of Alight also clears the local support session. Clearing a session does not delete messages held by Intercom.

Replies, handoff and availability are managed in Intercom. Support conversation retention and workspace settings must be verified before support is enabled.

Event data and retention

The event policy closes attendee discovery 24 hours after the event ends. Accounts, profiles, photos, imported emails and saved journeys are scheduled for deletion 30 days after the event ends. Only anonymous event totals are retained, without a mapping back to individuals.

Provider logs, backups and any later support integration must be covered by the final retention configuration before launch.
